Before trying to fix any issues in your sewing machine; you should read and understand the manual. It probably has solutions to almost all the problems related to your machine. If you have misplaced the manual, indeed, you could try contacting the manufacturer to obtain a copy of it, or some are available to download on the web.
Often, very small details can cause hitches, and proper needle placement, threading, bobbin thread, and tension settings are some of the areas that need to be looked into. Once you have checked with these basic parts, then you could move forward with troubleshooting.
These are some common hitches in sewing machines.
Noise while sewing
A knocking sound coming from your machine can be jittery. However, loud noises could be alarming you of something serious. Small knocking noise may be arousing due to improper maintenance. If so, stop operating, turn off the machine, and start inspecting. Try changing the needle, threading, check for loose screws, and lubricate the parts with oil. If the problem persists, then take it to the nearest service center.
Machine not forming stitches
You may have threaded the machine wrong, or the needle may have come un-threaded. Bobbin thread may be running out, or you haven’t inserted the bobbin thread properly. Also, check if the needle has been placed in the right direction and check for any deforms in the needle.
Heating issues
You must have been sewing for long at a stretch, or there is an issue with the motor. If this is the case - turn off the power and try again after an hour or so.
